Mount Meru Trek (4 Days)

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. After registration, begin your trek through the lush montane forest where you might spot giraffes, buffaloes, and colobus monkeys. You'll be accompanied by an armed park ranger. Arrive at Miriakamba Hut (2,514m) for dinner and overnight.

The trail climbs steeply through the forest and into the heather zone. You will enjoy spectacular views of the Meru Crater and the ash cone. After reaching Saddle Hut (3,570m), you can take an optional afternoon acclimatization hike to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m) for even better views. Overnight at Saddle Hut.

Your summit push starts around midnight (12:00–2:00 AM). The trail follows a narrow ridge with dramatic drops on both sides, reaching Socialist Peak (4,562m) just in time for sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro. After celebrating at the peak, descend back to Saddle Hut for brunch and continue down to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m) for your final night on the mountain.

Enjoy a final scenic descent through the forest with chances to spot wildlife. The hike back to Momella Gate takes approximately 3–5 hours. At the gate, you will receive your summit certificates and meet your driver for the transfer back to Arusha.
